From Classroom to Craft Room: Meet Penelope, the Heart Behind PezzyWezziesPrezzies

Hello there, and welcome to the official blog of PezzyWezziesPrezzies! I'm Penelope Baxter, the hands (and heart!) behind all the handmade cards, gifts, and little moments of joy you find in our shop.

For many years, my passion lay in the vibrant and rewarding world of early years education. As an Early Years Practitioner, I thrived on nurturing young minds and fostering creativity. However, life sometimes throws unexpected challenges our way, and in my case, it came in the form of a persistent health condition, Hidradenitis Suppurativa. Sadly, this meant I had to make the difficult decision to step away from the career I loved.

But as one door closed, another gently creaked open, filled with the scent of beautiful paper, the satisfying snip of scissors, and the endless possibilities of crafting. My journey into the world of handmade creations actually began back in 2011. What started as a therapeutic outlet and a way to channel my creative energy slowly but surely blossomed into something more.

PezzyWezziesPrezzies isn't just a business to me; it's a lifeline, a passion project, and a testament to the fact that even amidst adversity, beauty and joy can be created. The name itself is a little bit of fun, a reflection of the quirky and heartfelt nature of the items you'll find here – a mix of 'Pezzy' (a childhood nickname!), 'Wezzies' (another personal touch!), and 'Prezzies' (because who doesn't love a lovely present?).

From those early days of experimenting with different crafts to the thriving little brand PezzyWezziesPrezzies is today, it's been an incredible journey. Each card, each gift, each little creation is infused with the care and attention that comes from being truly handmade. Knowing that something I've poured my energy into can bring a smile to someone's face, mark a special occasion, or simply brighten their day is what truly drives me.

This blog will be a space for me to share more of the stories behind the creations, sneak peeks of new designs, perhaps even a little behind-the-scenes glimpse into my crafting process here in Telford. I also hope to connect with you, my wonderful customers, and build a little community around the joy of giving and receiving thoughtful, handmade items.
